Select an Aligner Case to benefit from the expertise of our Digital Lab technicians in setting up your target for aligner therapy, and then generating and adjusting your series of aligners or staged models.
Here is an overview of the Aligner Case process for each region.
Here is a task overview of the Aligner Case followed below with step-by-step instructions.
When the patient is ready for aligner therapy, capture an unbonded therapeutic model with gingiva. Capture this scan at a patient appointment using the CEREC® Omnicam or a third party scanner that can provide surface data in .STL format, such as the iOC™ Scanner/iTero®, 3Shape TRIOS®, CS 3500, or 3M True Definition scanners.
Once the dentition has been scanned, you will need to complete the aligner prescription (MACROS), upload the scan data into SureSmile, and order the therapeutic model. The Digital Lab will produce the therapeutic model, setup and staged models and send them back for your review within 6-10 business days.
Note: You will not need to approve the therapeutic model, as the Digital Lab does this for you as part of the Aligner case type.
This setup represents the target, or desired treatment outcome of the aligner treatment. SureSmile's automated staging tools create a series of models that start with the therapeutic model and finish with the setup created in step 2. You can control the rate of movements, limit or exclude specific movements, and designate specific teeth as fixed.
After all of the staged models are generated for aligner therapy, order aligners, printed models or export staged models to create 3D files to send to your lab for appliance production.
The topics in this section give detailed step-by-step instructions for aligner therapy using a SureSmile Aligner Case.
