Preferences

To define preferences for the practice and for your tasks, click in the SureSmile title bar, and select Preferences from the menu.

Tip: After setting a preference, if you want to return to the last page you were working on in SureSmile, click the Return to previous page link in the SureSmile bar. The preferences you just set or changed are immediately applied.

Links to the appropriate Preferences tab are placed throughout the software. For example, when selecting a wire sequence for a wire order, you can click a link to go directly to the Wires tab on the Preferences page to modify or create a wire sequence template.

The preferences page has the following tabs for setting preferences:

Appearance	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to select your preferences for the appearance of SureSmile pages in your browser.
Prescription*	ü	ü	ü	ü		These are your defaults for new patients. Although you can change these as needed for a particular patient, setting defaults saves time since you do not have to reset them for each patient. SureSmile checks who the treating doctor is for each patient and uses that doctor’s preferences to pre-populate the MACROS form.
Wires*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to set up new wire sequences to use when ordering wires.
Others*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to set defaults for creating a wire order after setup approval, whether to deliver Diagnostic Models as Finished and the option to hide the Export Trays button for IDB.
Brackets*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to restrict the bracket list to only the brackets that you use frequently.
Bracket Sets*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to add, edit, or delete a bracket set.
Bracket Height Sets*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to add, edit, or delete a bracket height set.
Aligner Constraints*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to set maximum movement rates per stage for staged model sequencing.
Trim Type & Height*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to set the trimline type of straight or scalloped and height for your aligners. The trim height range is 0 to 2 millimeters in 0.1 mm increments. Modified trim height applies to newly created Staged Models once the preference is saved. The Straight Trim Height list box is dimmed and inactive whenever the Scalloped option is chosen.
Aligner Overcorrections*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Allows you to specify overcorrections to be included in aligner design beyond the final setup as needed to achieve your treatment goals. Overcorrection amounts are cumulative (ex: .2mm overcorrection will result in 2 stages with .1mm in each stage).
Attachment Placement Constraints*	ü	ü	ü	ü		Customize your default attachment placement parameters.
Task Owner	ü				ü	Set which roles in your practice are responsible for common tasks. Setting these task owner preferences determines who will be assigned tasks.
Treatment	ü				ü	Controls the operation of the treatment timeline, task reminders, and the calculation of elapsed treatment time.
Flag Labels	ü				ü	Create labels for your task flags. When you place your cursor on a flag, the labels appear as tool tips to remind you what each flag represents.
Search	ü	ü	ü		ü	Define custom search terms that appear in the menus in the Treatment and Diagnosis sections on the Patient Overview.
