This chart illustrates the integration of a SureSmile Standard case into the course of the treatment process. The SureSmile process is comprised of each patient interaction with SureSmile.
The left side of the chart, shaded in blue, lists the key activities occurring at the clinic. The right side of the chart identifies the interaction with the Digital Lab and manufacturing at Dentsply Sirona.

Start: A SureSmile case starts with the consultation appointment and the creation of the record, which includes importing photos and x-rays into SureSmile. The doctor can then use the images for ceph analysis and treatment planning on the computer. At the start of treatment, the doctor may choose to scan the patient’s malocclusion to produce a diagnostic model.
Treatment Simulation, Bonding: Simulation software allows the orthodontist to use a diagnostic 3D model to evaluate treatment alternatives. The software also provides a method to simulate bracket placement. This bracket simulation can then be referenced during the bonding appointment.
Therapeutic Scan, Setup: After the practice has taken a scan to capture current tooth and bracket positions, the doctor can review treatment progress in the resulting therapeutic 3D model and then direct the production of the setup. The Digital Lab, a group of technicians at Dentsply Sirona, produces models from scans and setups according to the doctor’s instructions.
Prescription, Archwire Installation: Custom archwires are ordered based on a prescription and are then inserted at the wire installation appointment. If a patient loses a bracket following the intraoral scan, an update scan captures the rebonded bracket position.
