The SureSmile lingual process encompasses all of the interactions between you and your patient during lingual treatment. Activities can be grouped into four areas:
Start - A SureSmile lingual case starts with the consultation appointment and the creation of the patient record. This includes importing photos and x-rays into SureSmile. You can then use the imported images for treatment planning in SureSmile. At the start of treatment, the patient’s malocclusion should be captured to produce a diagnostic model. A diagnostic model is required for planning bracket positions with SureSmile’s diagnostic bracket placement simulation functionality.
Diagnostic Simulation, Indirect Bonding - SureSmile’s treatment simulation software allows you to use a diagnostic model to evaluate treatment alternatives. In addition, bracket placement simulation allows you to plan your bracket placements and communicate with your laboratory technician during the indirect bonding process. Diagnostic Bracket Placement Simulation is essential for correct SureSmile lingual patient selection. It allows for precise inter-bracket distance and lingual surface length evaluation.
Therapeutic Scan, Setup - As with labial SureSmile treatment, after your staff has taken a scan to capture current tooth and bracket positions after teeth have been aligned and derotated, you can use the resultant therapeutic model to review treatment progress and create a setup prescription.
Prescription Archwires - Just as with labial SureSmile treatment, SureSmile lingual custom archwires are ordered based on your wire design prescription, and engaged at the wire installation appointment. Again, just like labial SureSmile treatment, correct wire engagement is critical to ensure precise play out of SureSmile lingual archwires.
