Create and Order a Setup Prescription

When you create a setup prescription, a 3D model is presented as you move through the steps of the setup prescription checklist. Since the setup model acts as a simulation, it is called an embedded simulation.

Tip: Before you start the setup prescription, you may find it useful to perform one or more treatment simulations to observe multiple treatment scenarios.

To create and order a setup prescription, follow these steps:

1. From the practice home page, open the record of the patient for whom you need to order a new setup.
2. Click New, and select Setup from the drop-down menu.
   Result: A new setup appears.
3. Click the checklist icon on the menu bar to display the setup prescription checklist.
4. Follow the steps in the checklist. As you go through the steps, you will be directed to enter treatment instructions in the MACROS. Whenever you click in a section of the MACROS, corresponding images and models display automatically on the treatment planning workspace to assist you.
5. After you complete the checklist, go to the Order tab.

Note: if you wish to use another treatment simulation as the basis for your setup instead of the embedded simulation (the simulation currently displayed in the main window), select the simulation from the Attach Simulation list. If aspects of the attached simulation conflict with instructions in the setup order or in the doctor’s typed notes, these aspects of the simulation will be ignored by SureSmile.

6. Click Submit to order the setup model.
   Result: The state of the setup changes to Ordered in the status bar at the top of the page.
